Hi loves!
I hope you’re all keeping well and keeping busy while trapped in quarantine! It’s definitely been a change of pace [for myself included] and it’s honestly been nice to see the world slow down for a few weeks, despite the circumstances.
I thought that this was perfect time for a coffee convo catch-up, so I can fill you guys in on what I’ve been up to during this crazy pandemic, despite the days all seeming to blur into one lately. Cozy on up with a cuppa and settle in for a catch up!

plants everywhere
Since I’ve been off of work due to COVID-19 I’ve invested in so many little plant babies that I think I’m turning into the crazy plant lady.
I used to kill anything that was green either by giving it too much sun, not enough sun, too much water, or [you guessed it] not enough water. You can imagine how happy I am that I’ve had these plants for over 2/3 weeks and they not only are they still alive, they’re thriving.
getting creative
I’ve always had an on-going list of projects to try out but I never had time to get around to starting in on that list, until now.
I’ve managed to create some really cute decor pieces with picture frames that I already had and some cheap acrylic paint from the Dollarstore.
My sewing machine has definitely been getting its use over the past couple weeks! A lot of my friends and family have requested face masks so that they can keep themselves [and others] safe while out in public.
etsy shop update
I’ve been so blessed to have numerous Etsy orders come rolling in the past few weeks, and before quarantine got serious I did my absolute best to get all orders out on time. However, as the days went on Canada Post started limited International Shipping.
So in favour of the recommendations provided by the Government of Canada and the Ontario Provincial Government as well as the Ministry of Health, shipping out Etsy orders at this time is declared as NON-ESSENTIAL. I will still be taking orders and they will be back-logged unfortunately until advised otherwise.

Folding my box spring in half
Boy do I have a story for you guys.
When we moved into the apartment that we currently live in, the movers could not for the life of them fit our queen sized box spring through the door and down the staircase— there just wasn’t enough clearance. So it sat in our shed for about two months [in its original plastic packaging so it didn’t get damaged] and finally I decided that there had to be a way to get it in and also that I probably wasn’t the first person who has had this issue.
Where do I go when I need some inspiration to figure out a problem that I just can’t solve? YouTube. Because like I said— someone else was bound to have had the same problem and what do you know, I was right! I found a video right away that demo’d cutting and folding the box spring in half so that it was easier to maneuver and it would fit down the staircase.
- First I had to take off the back fabric piece that was covering the wood and metal frame
- Next I had to make one cut in each of the outer wood frame pieces halfway down the frame [vertically]
- Then with the help of my brother, we were able to bend the metal frame until the box spring was in half!
I really wish that I had pictures to share with you guys of this whole ordeal but once I set my mind to accomplish something, I don’t stop for anything. I’m so glad that this method worked, we really missed having the height to our bed— it makes all the difference and you couldn’t ever tell that our box spring was once folded in half.
If you want to see a video of this being done [so you can get a better picture of what I’m talking about] you can always hop over to YouTube and search “how to fold a box spring in half”.
Doula Training Started
EEEEKKKK! If you’ve been following me for a while you’ll know by now that my day-time job fuels a passion for maternity care that just keeps growing and with that my education!
The second week of March I officially started my Doula [aka maternal support practitioner] certification and I’m loving every second of it so far! It’s jam packed with knowledge and I am so confident that coming out of this I will know everything there is to know about the birth world.
Alright guys, that’s it for this coffee convo, I hope you got a laugh or two out of this post!
Xx,
